I'm just finding out about this firmware and what it is. I've tried it but also finding out why it's not working. This is a great firmware! Have you completed the fix yet?

Hey Dallas:

I think CVE-2008-4229 in the 2.2 firmware broke KillExchangeLocks - it no longer works at all. Any chance you have a fix in the works? I'd be glad to help patch it if you'd like.

Thanks!

Jesse322: For the first part of your question I will refer back to this section in the post:

"for *some* users, they should only have to run the app 1 time, as we trick the iPhone into thinking a passcode is not needed, and therefore it will not ask you every day. I say *some* because from testing, this currently only works for certain exchange setups."

Unfortunately my works setup is one of those that does NOT fall into this group, and therefore, I too have to enter a code and rerun the app every day. It's a pain, but its WAY better then being locked down, and with this app its WAY easier then making the changes by hand.

As for the rest of your post, it sounds like something is REALLY messed up.
Frankly I would suggest you try a restore.
Also perhaps you could take some screen shots, that might help me see what is happening exactly. However from how you explained it, it sounds like there is something wrong with the lower workings in your phone (settings app, etc) and the best thing would probably be the restore, even though they suck to do.

I love this app, but I'm running into some problems. I ran the app yesterday, and it worked, but today it started asking for a password again. The weird thing is, when the new password screen pops up, my phone will not let me type anything. I tried uninstalling killexchangelock, but it still wouldn't work. Finally, I deleted my exchange email account and tried to re-add it, but still no luck. When I bring up the "choose what type of email account" screen, I select exchange, and then the phone gets all screwy. When I try to tap on the screen to fill the fields, it just starts popping up with a new email account screen. The screen itself shows the different exchange email account fields, but when I tap on any of them, it seems to think it's on the previous screen, and will pull up a new gmail account or mobileme account, depending on which part of the screen I touch. It's really weird, and I dont know how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
