Psalm 91 – The Psalm of Protection

Psalm 91 is known as the psalm of protection and is attributed to David. According to Jewish tradition, it was Moses who composed it, but the Septuagint translation credits David. Regardless of its origin, psalm 91 nkjv offers a reminder of God’s protection over his people.

The psalmist declares his confidence in God as his source of protection, using various dangers as symbols of terrors that God does not want His people to fear. This is a comforting promise, as it reminds us that God will protect us from harm no matter what our circumstances are. Jesus even refuted Satan’s misuse of this promise when he was tempted by the devil.
